Recreation Programs & Outdoor Education

The City of Marysville facilitates and develops programs, special events, and recreation leagues for everyone to enjoy. New for 2022 - Online program and league registration is available through RecDesk.

NEW - Summer Skills Series


The Summer Skills Series will be a summer-long event that introduces outdoor skills for young community members ages 6 to 17. These Passport Programs will focus on recreational activities such as kayaking, fishing, and archery. Each event will touch on safety, equipment, and activity engagement. Registration will be available closer to the event date(s).

Passport to Kayaking


Date: TBA for 2023 (Event usually takes place in early June)
Time: TBA for 2023
Location: Aldersgate Park, 400 Damascus Rd.
Ages: 8 - 17
This program will introduce the fundamentals of kayaking. Participants will learn proper paddling and stroke techniques, and will have the opportunity to practice these new skills in the water. Participants will also learn the basics of water safety, and how enjoy time out on the open water. Registration is required.

Passport to Fishing


Date: Saturday, July 9th
Time: 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Location: Aldersgate Park, 400 Damascus Rd.
Ages: 6 - 17
This program provides skills, techniques, and information to allow beginners to start fishing in their own community. Participants will complete different stations such as casting, knots and rigging, habitat and handling, and local information. Upon completion, participants will receive a free fishing pole. Registration is full.

Passport to Archery


Date: Saturday, August 13th
Time: 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Location: Reservoir Park, 18375 Raymond Rd.
Ages: 10 - 17
Trained instructors will cover the basics of proper archery form and how to have fun safely. The basic fundamentals of archery will be covered from shot cycle to gear and bows. Participants will have the ability to handle archery gear, as well as have the opportunity to practice their new skills at an inflatable archery range. Registration is required.
