Capital Improvement Program

The engineering staff manages the city’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP), including the planning, plan review, and construction management for transportation, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and water distribution projects. The CIP also incorporates all city facilities, including the cemetery, swimming pool, parks, and buildings.

Support Services

Engineering staff provides technical support to other city departments, developers, and citizens with respect to utility locations, stormwater management, floodplain management, wastewater collection, water distribution, transportation planning, traffic concerns, neighborhood traffic issues, and other engineering-related items.

City Engineer

The city engineer has general coordinating responsibility with the Water, Wastewater, Streets and Stormwater divisions. The Planning and Zoning Division directly reports to the city engineer.
