City Updates: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Marysville City Logo

In response to State issued orders by Governor Mike DeWine, the City of Marysville is taking every possible precaution to protect the health and safety of its residents and employees, while continuing to provide quality customer service.  We will keep you posted on the City’s response to the COVID-19 situation through this website and our Facebook page.

The City of Marysville asks residents who normally visit City Hall for services to conduct their business over the phone, online, or utilizing the drive-thru drop box behind City Hall.

The following city facilities are closed to the public until further notice:

  • City Hall (including Council Chambers)
  • Oakdale Cemetery Office (no walk-ins; call (937) 645-7349 for appointments)
  • Partners Park Restrooms
  • All City-owned play structures
  • All City park basketball rims have been removed
  • All park shelters are prohibited for groups of 10 or more people and are not available for reservations
  • Police and Municipal Court Community Room
  • Decker Fire Station Training Room

The following events have been cancelled. The events may be rescheduled for later this year.

  • Urban Forestry Initiative
  • Document Shred & E-Recycle
  • Friday Nights Uptown - Science Block Party (May Event)

  • City Council Work Session - Virtual Meeting via Zoom on Monday, April 6th at 6:00 pm. (Meeting Details)

Council Committee, Board, and Commission will hold virtual meetings. View calendar for upcoming meetings.

The 2020 State of the City Address was cancelled.  The State of the City video is available for the public to view.

Civil Service Tests & Interviews

All Civil Service tests and interviews are cancelled and will be rescheduled in the future.

Income Tax Returns

Income Tax filing and payments normally due April 15, 2020 will be deferred to July 15, 2020 without additional penalties or interest.

Additional payments eligible for deferral without penalties and interest are the first and second quarter estimated tax payments normally due April 15, 2020 and June 15, 2020. The incurred penalties and interest applied to all payments due January 15, 2020 and before will not be waived.

Therefore, this deferral allows taxpayers until July 15, 2020 to file and pay the tax and applicable penalties and interest balance reported on the 2019 return and the first two quarters of the 2020 estimates normally due April 15th and June 15th.

PLEASE NOTE: Information was mailed out in January regarding filing online.  Although City Hall is closed to the public we are still available to assist by phone and email.  Forms are located in our lobby and website.  Payments can still be made via online, mail, dropbox (located behind city hall) or phone.

With the indefinite closure of City Hall, tax payers have alternative methods to receive assistance from the Income Tax Division.  In lieu of our typical walk-in service, a drop-off return preparation service is available. If you need assistance with your City of Marysville return, you can leave your tax information in the drop box located behind City Hall. Our team will then prepare your return, contact you with results, and mail 2 copies of the prepared return (one to be signed and returned to our office and the other for your records). This service remains free of charge.  We are still available to answer your city tax questions by phone at (937) 645-7350. Taxes may also be filed online.

Income Tax Payments

Payments can be made by the following ways:

  • Drive-thru drop box behind City Hall
  • Online
  • Phone (937) 645-7350, option 4 (During regular business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Email for questions related to Income Tax.

Due to the COVID-19 federally declared health emergency, the utility shut-off process was postponed for the month of March. This was for utility delinquent accounts that were scheduled to be shut-off on March 19, 2020.  We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.

Although City Hall is closed to public access during this health emergency, payments can be made by the following ways:

  • Drop box locations at City Hall
  • Online
  • Phone (937) 645-7350, option 1 (During regular business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Email for questions related to Utilities.
