Why do I need a backflow preventer?
Backflow prevention devices are required by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA) and reiterated by City Ordinance in order to protect the city's distribution system from cross contamination sources that could occur downstream of the water meter. All commercial/industrial water users and properties with irrigation systems are required to have a proper backflow prevention device installed on their service lines. If you have questions, please email or call (937) 645-7350.
